Cupping Massage

Fire cupping, often known simply as cupping, is a therapeutic technique associated with Eastern medicine. Cupping’s most potent impact by far is its tried-and-true ability to optimize circulation. Increased blood flow to all areas of your body provides a number of important health improvements, from cell growth and organ function to the appearance of your skin. Red blood circulates oxygen throughout your body, and the more efficiently that happens, the better you’ll look and feel.
Fire cupping uses a flame to create a negative pressure inside a glass cup. When placed on your body, this negative pressure creates a vacuum, pulling skin into the cup. A light suction has a very relaxing effect on the nervous system, mimicing the feel of traditional massage treatment. A stronger suction creates the effect of a deep tissue massage, increasing localized blood circulation, nourishing the skin and muscles and flushing toxins.
Cupping massage affects the muscles, blood, lymphatic and nervous system. By bringing fresh blood to the surface of your skin, cupping can:
-
Help migraines
-
Decrease inflammation
-
Manage acute and chronic pain
-
Decrease trigger points and hypertonic muscles
-
Provide a deep pain relief & overall stretch in the muscles
-
Improve lymphatic circulation & function
-
Create a healthy healing environment for injuries
-
Promote mental and physical relaxation and well-being

Treatments are customizable to your needs, and can focus on back, neck, shoulders, hips, arms, legs, groin and feet. Since Cupping Massage is very stimulating to the sensory nerves, a 1/2 hour treatment tends to be long enough for most people. It's said that the benefits/relief from a 10 minute cupping treatment is equivalent to 1/2 hour of traditional massage.
Marks left behind from the cups will take on average a week to two weeks to fully disappear, depending on your health and how fast your lymphatic system can remove blood, waste and by-products of inflammation from the interstitial space. These marks are not a true bruise as there is no damage done to the blood vessels.
